4Common problem

Knitted fabric:

Knitted fabrics (warp knitting, weft knitting) are mainly made up of yarn loops connected in series in a longitudinal or horizontal system. The weft-knitted fabric is formed by the transverse loops of the same yarn; the warp-knitted fabric is formed by the transverse loops of the warp yarns arranged in parallel.

The structural unit of the knitted fabric is the loop, which forms a curved three-dimensional space curve. The main geometrical parameters are the diameter of the yarn, the height and length of the loops, and the distance between loops. The structure of the actual knitted fabric is also more complicated, and is usually represented by a certain geometric model (see the geometry of knitted fabric loops). Knitted fabrics generally refer to textiles woven with rib needles or other pattern needles.

Woven fabric:

Generally, it is made of interwoven yarns or filaments in the warp and weft directions. Its overall structure is characterized by: the appearance is in the shape of a flat plate, the structure of the warp and the weft is repeated, and the vertical structure is generally single, but it can also be several layers. The warp and weft yarns are interwoven into a net shape, which has both coverage and gaps, and has a certain thickness.

Woven fabrics refer to textiles woven by ordinary vertical and horizontal weaving methods, which are generally woven by weaving machines.

Detailed comparison:

Knitted fabric: It is characterized by elasticity, good air permeability, various patterns, and its craftsmanship is relatively complicated. There are artificial knitting and special computerized textile machine production.

The difference between knitted fabric and woven fabric

Woven fabric: It is characterized by compactness and no elasticity. The fabrics we often see are mostly woven fabrics. Knitted fabrics are "weft knitted fabrics" with elastic properties. Example: Knitted fabric: cotton sweater (called Qiuyi in the north) sweater.

Woven fabric: cotton wool cloth, jersey.
